Instruments Flight Rules - IFR (EASA)

  • Flight training consists of two modules – basic instrument flight module (BIFM) and procedural instrument flight module for a total of 50 flight hours if you are not a Commercial Pilot License – CPL(A) holder, yet or 40 hours if you are already a CPL(A) holder.
  • Prepare your flight according to the regulation including weather, flight planning, alternate, performances and you will be interrogated by your examiner on all these points
  • Operate the airplane within its limitations
  • Complete all maneuvers with smoothness and accuracy
  • Exercise good judgment and airmanship
  • Apply your aeronautical knowledge
  • Maintain control of the airplane at all times
  • Respect all regulations and limitation specific to IFR flights
  • After the successful completion of the required flight hours, students will have their final check-ride with a certified examiner by the local aviation authority. 
  • The validity of the rating is 1 year. Renewal is required after a year.

Instruments Flight Rules - IFR (FAA)

The Flight Training will take place in the single-engine aircraft equipped for IFR or a Multi-Engine aircraft if the student has the ME add on.
In order to obtain an Instrument Rating, the pilot must complete a minimum of 35 hours of dual flight under Part 141 and a minimum of 15 dual flight hours under Part 61 plus 50 hours of cross country as pilot in command (PIC).
This training will also be divided into three stages and will have three stage flight texts. The student will obtain the necessary aeronautical skill and experience necessary to meet the requirements for an Instrument Rating certificate.

  • 15 hours minimum dual time  (holds, tracking, shooting approaches, communication procedures.)
  • 50 hours of cross country as PIC
